What Are You Doing With Your Time?

This past Sunday, Pastor Johnson preached a powerful message where he posed the question, "What Are You Doing With Your Time?". I think that the question is not only relevant, but actually a vital link in maximizing our faith in God. James 2:17 says that, "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." **God has blessed us with the gift of time, but what are we doing with it? Some would say that we "waste it" or are "killing it". However I encourage us to "invest it" and "use it wisely". By profession, I am an elementary-school teacher. On students' report cards, I have to grade them in a performance category that judges whether or not they "Make Wise Use of Time" based upon their works. If God were to grade you in that category, what do you think your grade would be? Would you get an "S+", "S", "S-" or an "N"? Saints, we must work while it is day, for the day will come when no man can work. (John 9:4). Being that we have not yet reached perfection, there is still room for improvement with our use of time. Redeem the time at hand, because the days are evil...(Ephesians 5:16) **Please note that "God has" should of course, be separated. However, after multiple attempts to try and correct this error, the words are still showing published as "connected" despite my corrections to the blog. |

The word is showing published correctly now, no worries. What I have difficulties to understand is the part with "we must work while it is day" but we know many of us are working night shifts, is it bad this or not?

To reply to your comment, the scripture John 9:4 is not to be taken literally, in that you have to work your secular job during the daytime and not night. It is referring to your spiritual advancement. We must not "sit around" and not fulfill our spiritual assignment by wasting time or behaving in a manner as if Christ is not coming. We must do the work of the Lord while we have time, because when Christ returns we will be judged according to our works. I hope this answers your question! :-)
